Philosophy
The digitial age has made possible immediate exchange, global reach and unlimited storage of information. Without proper care, organisations can flounder in this wealth of information. For as human beings, not machines, we work on understanding the significance of what we do, as court planners, as climate change scientists, as biologists, through a personal feel for the issues at play in the world we have learnt to know by experience. SigniFine works with computer software, data networks and easy to understand graphical interface, to draw from information the picture that communicates the significance of the data to each person in their own field of expertise. It deals with the boundary between information and signification. A common mistake with many computer systems is they try to achieve so much for the sake of the user that they forget the user is even there. Meanwhile the abstract theoretical system becomes so monstrous in its complication that a user never gets to fully comprehend the rules he must navigate to do anything but the simplest things. A successful system on the other hand interprets information through the different meanings it provides to its users . In fact all the system is doing is connecting people to do their different tasks synchronously, providing the common information pool to make the organisation run as a whole. The system operates through a number of key screens that present the information intuitively to the planner and the choices his experience can take.  Contact us at pfranses@signifine.co.uk for futher documentation |
