Problem A large court in Holland deals with thousands of hearings per week. This results in many different specialist departments occupying themselves with a part of the planning puzzle, using a different software programme or pencil and erasure methods, that did not communicate with their colleagues. Any change in the planning has enormous ramifications in passing information on to others, often resulting in a case being cancelled as a simpler solution than coordinating a new allocation of courtrooms to cover for a changed circumstance.

Solution The solution to the problem is two fold. Firstly, a secure central database is designed to hold all the planning information. Secondly a very simple, flexible and friendly software interface is created that allows authorised access limited to the requirements of a user to access or edit only their part of the data.

Consequence In this way the manifold complexity of information is singly mediated at its point of entry into the system and centrally distributed in the multiple ways managers, employers, visitors need.
